Refund Policy
Effective Date: May 2026
At Big’s Paws with a Purpose Portraits, each commissioned artwork piece is individually created as a custom fine art luxury commission. Every portrait is handcrafted specifically for the client using significant time, artistic development, creative design, and personalized detail. Because of the highly customized nature of the work, refunds are extremely limited once the artistic process has begun.
Deposits
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your commission and reserve time on the artist’s schedule.
This deposit covers:
-
Project planning
-
Artistic development
-
Design preparation
-
Reference review
-
Scheduling and reserved studio time
-
Initial work on the commissioned piece
Once work has begun on the artwork, the deposit cannot be refunded.
Custom Artwork Policy
Due to the personalized and one-of-a-kind nature of commissioned fine art, completed or in-progress custom artwork is generally non-refundable.
Clients acknowledge that:
-
Fine art is a custom luxury service
-
Each piece is uniquely created for the individual client
-
Significant time and artistic labor are invested into every commission
-
Artistic interpretation is part of the commissioned process
For these reasons, refunds are typically not possible once production has started.
Approval & Communication
Clients are encouraged to communicate clearly regarding artistic preferences, style direction, and expectations before work begins.
Reasonable communication regarding the commission process is welcomed to help ensure the final artwork reflects the agreed artistic vision.
Damaged Shipments
If artwork arrives damaged during shipping, clients must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide:
-
Photos of the packaging
-
Photos of the damage
-
A description of the issue
Shipping damage claims will be reviewed individually.
Cancellations Before Work Begins
If a client cancels a commission before any work has started, any refund issued will be determined at the artist’s discretion, minus any applicable consultation, planning, or administrative costs already incurred.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
By submitting payment for commissioned artwork, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Refund Policy terms. Unauthorized chargebacks or payment disputes for completed or in-progress custom artwork may be contested with documentation of the commission agreement, communication history, and work performed.
